Uncooked Lasagne for Attention to Detail

Attention to Detail

Today I made a Lasagna, I hope it comes out as well as I have planned. I suspect it will because of the attention to detail I put into making it.

Making Lasagna is a balancing act, it requires getting the proportions of ingredients just right. I start with a coating of olive oil at the bottom of the pan before the layer of noodles (I know others start with a layer of the meat sauce, but I like the structure of the pasta bottom. You know I always have to be different, and I like saying pasta bottom) next the meat sauce with 15 grams of grated Parmesan sprinkled on top, then the Creme Fraiche/Ricotta cheese mix. Repeat until you have 5 levels finishing with the Ricotta mix topped with shredded Mozzarella and LOTS of Parmesan on top. I cover it with foil and let it sit at room temperature for a few hours to get it ready for 20 minutes baking with the foil on and the final 20ish minutes to finish and make the top golden brown. Each strata must have just enough moisture to cook the pasta properly but not so much that the whole lovely construction turns into Tomato/Meat/Cheese/Noodle soup, and if there isn’t enough wet then what you get resembles a 5 layer cardboard craft project that was left out in the sun for a week.

Now if you are still reading this (in my mind many of you have fallen asleep) you might be wondering what on earth this has to do with D/s?

I am so glad you asked!

It has to do with the thought and care you put into the things you say, and do, too and for each other.

When I do something I try to be as in the moment as possible, so that my focus is on what I am doing, not whether I have turned off the oven, or if it is time to change the oil in the car or any other the other millions things that we have to do in life, those things will have their own turn . I want to give her the attention to detail that I would like to get from her. She is the center of my world and I want her to know that in everything I do. That most certainly is the case when I am hurting her, and not only then but in all that I do as her Dom, I take the time to consider what will be best for her as my sub and as a whole person.

After all, she deserves more attention to detail than my Lasagna.

Here is how the Lasagna came out btw

Cooked Lasagna for Attention to Detail

Footnote by Molly

When I came home from the gym today I opened the door and the most amazing, delicious, smell hit me. He was in the kitchen cooking the meat sauce for the Lasagna. To say the smell set my mouth watering would be an understatement. However when I attempted to try a bit I was given a stern look. He then set about making me coffee and then some lunch. We took a shower together. He applied another bruise to my thigh. We worked. We talked. Kids came home and then we ate the Lasagna. It was as good, if not better, than it looks. Everything about it, the flavours, the textures, the smell, the colours, were perfect. Getting it just right takes time, thought, knowledge but most of all a desire to do it. That desire is something I feel from him all the time. A desire to be the best man he can be, for me and by that extension for us as a couple. For me, this whole post is encapsulated in just one sentence he wrote “She is the center of my world and I want her to know that in everything I do” and that dear readers is the absolute truth of the matter, whether it be lasagna, coffee, kissing, or anything else. He always makes me feel this way.

Creme fraiche/ ricotta chees mix instead of bechamel sauce? What are the quantities If I may ask please? I make a good bechamel but I’m always up for something that doesn’t have me stood at the stove stirring.

    1. 2-250g ricotta and 1-600g Creme Fraiche, mixed together 😉

  2. Aaaaah. *This* is the lasagne you were talking about on Friday. Now I know what your secret sauce is. So to speak!! Yummer. Xx
