I was reading a post on “A Dissolute Life Means” recently. I love reading Hy’s blog (Hi Hy!), she writes so very openly and honestly about her life and relationships. I don’t always agree with her point of view, but I always respect how she got there.
Then I read the comments and found this gem.

And I am a slut,. Somehow though in most peoples eyes it is OK that I am a slut but not OK if a woman is.

I have slept with hundreds of women, so many that it wouldn’t be possible for me to give an estimate that was even close to accurate. Far more than the number of people that Molly has slept with, yet my sluttery is seen as an accomplishment while in the eyes of many hers is as a mark of shame. This leads to things like this.
And this nonsense needs to stop! To imply that somehow a vagina becomes disgusting because a woman has sex is reprehensible and if indeed it is true for women why is not the same for men?
I hate to say it Daddy Dom. But you are a hypocrite and a sexist, neither of which makes you much of a man at all.
So to all of you sluts out there I say, be a proud slut, just like any man would be.
BTW, Daddy Dom, you used the words “sex positive” and to quote the great Inigo Montoya “You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means. ”

Excellent post – I too love, love, LOVE Hy’s blog. I also love, love, love my slutdom! My “list” is much longer than those of either of my partners and will onto ie to grow over time. So yes, sluts like me, Molly and Hy are marriage material, but only to open, understanding, TRULY sex positive partners. Anything less would be undeserving of us, and holy fuck, are we ever worth it.

Hmm, I can’t reply to this DaddyDom wanker without getting amazingly sweary.
This post is awesome, though, but in all honesty, and very sadly, I think we’re a long way off women being allowed equality where sexuality and the expression of it is concerned. I hate that that is the case…it’s that kind of misogynistic tripe that is still so pervasive in putting women down who are open about their desires.

Michael, as always I adore you and I’m so happy that you wrote this. Not long after I wrote this I wrote another post wherein a handful of my readers said in no uncertain terms that I was dating wrong, that I was too free with my body and that I was playing it all wrong. Reading this again (of course I read it the day you posted it!) reminds me yet again to remain true to who I am and that true happiness can find me here as I am. xx Hy
I absolutely couldn’t agree more (with you, not the arsefraggle that calls himself Daddy Dom). Attitudes like his do all men a disservice and belong (if they ever did belong) back in the middle ages.
Of course women should be able to enjoy their sexuality however they want and with whomever they want, and not be judged negatively for it. Similarly, we men should not be judged positively for it. It really shouldn’t be judged at all (except where it happens without consent and then it should be judged as harshly as it can, but that’s another topic).
A woman should no more be ashamed of being a “slut” than a man should be proud of being a “stud”. It just really shouldn’t be an issue; but, of course, it is the human condition to complicate things beyond all recognisable proportion.
The number of people that any of us have slept with is unimportant, whether it be 1 or 1,001 (or even none). Our sexual health, on the other hand, is important, and we owe it, not only to ourselves, but to our partners to protect it, ourselves, and each other regardless of how many, or how few people we have sex with.

I’m a Slut, I mean a total Slut and I found a man who begged me for 6 months to marry him and he knew I was a total Slut when he asked me to marry him.
